Haredi religious groups are calling for the investigation of a policeman who allowed an Arab driver who had run over a Haredi demonstrator to escape. A Haredi man was moderately injured on Saturday while lying down in front of traffic. He was among hundreds of Haredi demonstrators protesting the opening of the Carta parking lot, located adjacent to Jerusalem's Old City.
Protests have been going on for weeks against the decision of Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat to open the parking lot on the Sabbath.
