A Saudi prince, involved in a war against terror in his kingdom, was lightly injured by a human bomber, Saudi Arabia’s state-run news agency reported Friday. Deputy Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Nayef was holding a Ramadan public gathering for well-wishers at his office. At a security check by the bureau entrance, the terrorist blew himself up.
The Saudi Interior Ministry has led the war on terror in its country since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the United States. The country is the birthplace of Al-Qaeda terrorist group head Osama bin Laden and was home to 15 of the 19 hijackers involved in the Sept. 11 attack. The country is responsible for the imprisonment of hundreds of terror suspects and members of armed gangs.
