Iran will likely receive an advanced long-range air defense system in 2010, according to Israeli military sources quoted by Middle East Newsline. Despite its previous denials, Russia is believed to be ready to supply Iran with the S-300 system, and sources say that agreements for surplus system have already been signed with at least one former Soviet republic.

At  the same time, Iran has achieved significant progress in its ballistic missile program and can strike six NATO states, according to a report from the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs. The report, written by a leading Israeli missile analyst, said Iran overcame Western and United Nations sanctions as well as technological obstacles and was ready to deploy nuclear warheads on its missile arsenal.
