Close to 100 members of the Ethiopian community in Petah Tikva demonstrated outside city hall Wednesday that their children be equally integrated in the city’s educational system and without discrimination. The local parents association along the association for parents of Ethiopian students said it had decided to boycott studies if the Ethiopian students were not fairly integrated by September 1.

Protestor signs read “Stop Racism” and “Stop Discrimination”. Opposition leader MK Tzippi Livni called the situation “the creation of a new concept – education opposition”, and called it unacceptable for a country founded upon the absorption of immigrants.
