Hamas opposes the plan that the Palestinian Authority’s Salam Fayyad presented. On Tuesday, Fayyad revealed a plan for a de-facto Palestinian state within two years.
Hamas spokesman in Gaza, Sami Abi Zohari, said that Fayyad’s plan has no value and nothing remains from it except for its ink and paper. He added that the document is illegal since the Ramallah regime is “illegal” and the document hasn’t been approved by the Palestinian Parliament. One of the Hamas representatives in Gaza, Khalil Abu Lila, noted that the PA Arabs can only attain their rights and the establishment of a Palestinian state by opposition and armed struggle. The Popular Front called Fayyad’s plan “a fantasy.”
