Israeli scientists from Ben-Gurion University have developed a new process which will reduce the costs of desalination, a source of water the Middle East desperately needs. The process reduces the amount of brine volumes to 33-50 percent of those currently generated by desalination.
The University’s technology transfer company, BGN Technologies, has established a new company ROTEC (Reverse Osmoses Technologies) to develop the technology. Israel’s water company Mekorot has invested in ROTEC to promote the development of the technology.
