Israeli land sales to foreign groups are picking up steam, even including non-farming land owners looking to turn a profit, News1 reported. In an interview with Reshet Bet, agricultural inspector Shimon Vilnay revealed that land sales now include relatively new owners, inheritors of land acquired as afar back as 1882, who never farmed the land and are only looking for quick profits.

According to the report, foreign Arabs groups including some from countries considered hostile to Israel, are offering very large sums to purchase Israeli land. Via Israeli lawyers and contacts, the buyers have reportedly laid out upwards of $12,000 per dunam of land which is actually worth closer to $3,000 - $4,000. Foreign Arab purchasers include investment companies from Qatar and western Saudi Arabia.
