Three European companies have expressed an interest in buying an 80 percent stake of Iran's liquefied natural gas (LNG) production project which is worth $4 billion.

Ali Kheirandish, Head of Iran's LNG Company, made the remarks on Saturday without revealing the names of the European companies.
