The Religious Affairs Ministry placed security cameras on the Mount of Olives (Har HaZeitim) in order to stop Arab vandalism there, the ministry recently reported. Vandalism has been an ongoing problem at the cemetery for years and the Ministry finally decided to increase its security measures there.
The Mount of Olives, one of the most ancient Jewish cemeteries in the world, contains the graves of some 70,000 Jews, including many leading Jewish personalities and rabbis including the Or Hahayim Hakadosh, Rabbi Avraham HaCohen Kook, Rabbi Tzi Yehuda Kook, and former Prime Minister Menachem Begin.
