A British Muslim website forum for Islamic extremism is at the center of controversy following messages posted on Wednesday night which praised Taliban “heroes” for killing British troops during heavy fighting in Afghanistan last weekend. According to a report in the Daily Express the first messages were posted minutes after news spread of the deaths.
Senior politicians led calls for the Home Office to crack down on the site, pointing out that it further distresses the relatives of troops who gave their lives in the fighting. “It’s deeply distasteful and clearly the last thing that relatives of the dead want to see or hear,” said senior Tory MP Patrick Mercer. The following is a sample of posts from the site.
“Isma’eel”, said: “Man, they really are dropping like flies over there lol [laugh out loud].” ... “AbuJunayd”, said: “Inshallah [God-willing] the more the kuffs [non-Muslims] deploy, the more the bros will send em back in body bags, or crutches or with serious psychological problems.”
