Ahmad Wasaf Sutki Abukhanini, wanted in connection with the May 10, 2009 murder of Israeli taxi driver Gregory Rabinowitz, was arrested on Monday in the village of Arrana, northeast of Jenin, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday. Abukhanini is believed to be the third partner of Mahmad Haldi and Mahmad Udah who admitted strangling Rabinowitz to death with the help of another accomplice following their arrest on May 23.
During the investigation, the two claimed the murder was revenge for the killing of their relative, an Islamic Jihad operative who was involved in terror attacks on Israeli citizens. The two also admitted that they planned to abduct Israeli civilians.
