An Egyptian security delegation will travel to Jordan on Tuesday to start a series of visits this week with senior Fatah and Hamas officials which will also include Judea and Samaria, Gaza, Jordan, and Syria this week, according to the Ma’an news agency. While Egypt plays the role of mediator in efforts to reconcile Hamas and Fatah, little is known of the agenda of the meetings.



The delegation, led by Major General Muhammad Ibrahim will first meet with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in the Jordanian capital, Amman, before heading to Ramallah. There, the officials will meet Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and members of the newly elected Fatah Central Committee.



The Egyptians are then scheduled to go to Gaza to meet Hamas leaders. After Gaza, they will meet Hamas’s senior leadership in Syria.
