Egyptian forces reported Friday that they killed an African who tried to infiltrate Israel from the Sinai peninsula. The Egyptians say the would-be infiltrator refused to respond to their calls to stop. They add that warning shots were fired in the air.
Human rights groups say that the Egyptians have killed 26 people - including women and children - who have tried to enter Israel via Sinai since the start of the year.
