The Israel Electric Corporation said it recorded its highest single day demand for electricity this summer on Wednesday at 9900 megawatts. The company said it had reserves to handle an even greater demand as much as nine percent higher.

The highest summer time demand was recorded two years ago at 10,070 megawatts.
