Israel Approves Money, Cement Transfers to Gaza

The Israeli government approved NIS 104 million monthly transfers into Gaza with NIS 50 million earmarked for Palestinian Authority government workers, according to a Ynet report late on Wednesday. For the first time since Operation Cast Lead, cement shipments into Gaza will also be resumed.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak approved the cement shipments which amount to more than 310 tons. The cement will be used to upgrade a flour mill, a wastewater purification plant, and the British cemetery.
