    Israel, Thai Foreign Ministers Agree on Illegal Workers

    Israeli Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz and his Thai counterpart Kon Chatikawanit reached an agreement on implementing measures to prevent illegal workers from entering Israel, IDF Army Radio reported on Wednesday morning. As part of the agreement, Israel agreed to work with international migrant organizations to prevent worker exploitation and tax evasion.

    Earlier in the week a delegation of three Thai officials visited Israel for a security-oriented tour of airport technologies. The trip was organized by a partnership between the Israel Embassy in Bangkok, the Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry and the Israel Export Institute. On the occassion of the visit, head of the economic division of the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok Tzahi Selzer called Thailand "Israel's best friend in the Far East."
