The Health Ministry announced on Sunday night that it is investigating the possibility that two people who died over the weekend were infected with the H1N1 swine-flu virus before they died. Until now, no deaths have been reported among the more than 1,300 cases diagnosed in Israel.
One of the victims was a heavy smoker in his mid 30's who died on Saturday, a day after he was admitted to Eilat's Yoseftal Hospital with pneumonia. The other was a two-year-old boy who was being treated for a chronic illness at Schneider children's hospital in Petach Tikva. Both were in the high risk group for the disease.
