Bank of Israel President Stanley Fischer told Hareidi religious business managers Monday that more Hareidi men and women should join the workforce. He said that the Hareidi sector currently has one of the highest levels of poverty, and if more Hareidim would work they could change that.

Fischer added that the economy is showing some signs of recovery. He warned, however, that unemployment and inflation have continued to rise.
