Hundreds of people took part in a demonstration Sunday evening in the Rose Garden opposite the Knesset against the land-reform proposals of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Ostensibly designed to make home ownership easier, the proposals include an exchange of land between the Jewish National Fund and the Israel Lands Administration that could put lands intended for Jewish ownership up for sale to anyone. The exchange is under court review.
Demonstrators carried signs saying, "Bibi [Netanyahu -ed], [Labor Party Chairman Ehud] Barak and [Shas Party Chairman] Eli Yishai are selling Israel."
