Strong downturns in manufacturing caused by the global financial crisis are beginning to level off and may indicate the beginning of an economic recovery, according to a projective survey conducted by the Israeli Manufacturer’s Association (MFA). The survey indicates a possible slowing or even complete stop in the third quarter of the ongoing decline based on a review of production in June 2009 from 158 manufacturers.
The MFA noted, however, that manufacturers are still not reporting recovery and growth in production figures, and most are still struggling to maintain their existing credit as they weather the economic storm.
