A scheduled meeting Sunday between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and U.S. Mideast envoy George Mitchell has been postponed again, this time until at least the end of the month, according to Ynet. While there was no official reason offered for the delay, the reported quoted unnamed officials who suspect it relates to the lack of agreement between Israel and the U.S. on settlement expansion in Judea and Samaria (Yesha).
Mitchell was scheduled to arrive in Israel on Sunday and later hold meetings with senior Palestinian Authority officials in Ramallah. The previous meeting was set to take place in Paris last month, and discuss Washington's demand for a settlement freeze and the dismantling of disputed startup communities in Yesha.
