A major in the IDF was hurt in the head Tuesday when she was hit by a rock while riding in a taxi in New York's Upper East Side. The victim, Gilat Raz, 41, is an IDF career officer who is in New York visiting family with the seven year old children. Police said that she hurt when two teenagers who were throwing rocks off the overpass of the FDR Drive hit her in the head. The rock opened a large gash above her eye. The cab driver rushed her to the hospital for treatment.

"I've been driving in the West Bank, I've been in Gaza," Raz was quoted by the New York Daily News as saying. "I never imagined that New York would be where I'd get hit by a rock," she said, adding that "I love New York, but this changed something for me."
