Two Arab youths from Tira and Jaffa have been arrested for a series of robberies and attempted rapes in the Sharon area. Among other crimes, the two are suspected of raping a foreign worker from the Philippines, and of attempting to rape a woman whose car had broken down at the Ra'anana Junction.
Police suspect that the pair, ages 19 and 22, are responsible for many other attacks on women in the Sharon area, and that there were many similarities in a large number of the attacks. The two, who were indicted Thursday morning, asked the court to keep their names secret, a request the court granted, despite police opposition.
