Employees no longer have to wait in order to take care of their personal needs, a new law passed by the Knesset Thursday said. All places of work are now required to have properly working bathrooms, and employees no longer have to ask for permission or wait until a scheduled time in order to use the facilities. According to a statement by the authors of the law, many employers have been denying workers "their elementary rights for long hours at a time. We cannot accept a situation like this in the State of Israel."
The law was passed unanimously in the Knesset plenum. It was sponsored by MKs Shelly Yechimovich (Labor), Shlomo (Negusa) Mulla (Kadima), and Yitzchak Vaknin (Shas).
