Some 80 members of the "Homesh First" organization, along with activists and Israelis who were thrown out of their homes during the 2005 disengagement, held overnight Wednesday a funeral for holy books that had been destroyed by Arab vandals in Homesh ten days earlier. Fragments of books, ashes, and, and other objects that had been vandalized and burned by Arabs in the area who invaded the Beit Medrash of the yeshiva in Homesh were buried in clay jugs.

The ceremony had been planned for Wednesday afternoon, but was postponed in order to avoid the large police and army presence that was deployed in order to prevent the activists from getting to Homesh.
