      Bathroom Bill Moves Through Knesset

A new bill which obligates employers to provide a sanitary bathroom for employees and allow them to use the facilities during working hours, passed its preliminary reading in the Knesset on Wednesday. The bill is co-sponsored by MKs Shelly Yechimovich (Labor), Shlomo Molla (Kadima), and Yitzchak Vaknin (Shas).

Surprisingly not a basic right of workers, the legislators said they were compelled to act against the growing number of workplaces without an acceptable bathroom. In many cases, said the MKs, workers do not have an acceptable facility to tend to their bodily functions during work hours.
