Associates of Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz say he does not intend to quit, in spite of Monday's decision by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to maintain the exemption from value-added tax for produce and services to foreign tourists.

While the treasurer was bitter about the decision, the associates noted that the framework of the 2009-2010 budget would not be broken by it.
