A U.N. committee and the International Court, headed by Judge Richard Goldstone, will hear testimony Monday from Noam Shalit, the father of captive soldier Gilad Shalit. “The capture of Gilda Shalit for trade and negotiations, and his being held in captivity by Hamas and the prevention of his ever communicating ever with the outside is a callous violation of international treaties,” Shalit will say before the committee in Geneva, Switzerland.
The U.N. and Hague International Court established the committee in May in order to investigate allegations of war crimes performed by Hamas and Israel during Operation Cast Lead.
