(IsraelNN.com) The cabinet approved a proposal by Education Minister Gideon Saar on Sunday to amend the "Student's Bill of Rights" to make things tougher for violent students. Saar hopes the amendment will pass the Knesset in time to be in place for the school year beginning in September

Under the proposal, a student could be suspended for serious disciplinary problems or violent behavior without waiting for the appeal process to be followed. The disciplinary committee hearing the case would hear from school authorities as well as the parents in the case of an appeal. The proposal also includes measures to punish student for listening to music on an electronc device in class.
