There will not be peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) without the release of all PA prisoners from Israeli jails, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said on Saturday. "The peace won’t be achieved in the region without the release of all the Palestinian detainees that held in the Israeli jails," Abbas said according to Middle East news agency Ramattan.

Abbas’ comments came following a meeting with Sanaa Amro in Ramallah after she was released from jail. Amro was arrested and jailed for attempting to stab a Jewish settler. Abbas congratulated her on being released and stressed that the issue of PA prisoners will always be the top priority of PA leadership.
