(IsraelNN.com) Jerusalem police are ready for demonstrations on Shabbat by the hareidi-religious community, even if the community has not said that the demonstrations will take place, according to a Friday report by Army Radio. The community is expected to continue the protest started last week over the opening on Shabbat of the Karta parking lot, opposite the Jaffa Gate.

Secretary Yitzchak Goldknopf of the Committee for the Sabbath said that even if there are no demonstrations, it does not mean that the hareidim accept the parking lot's opening
