(IsraelNN.com) Two members of the United States Congress have written to the commander of the U.S. Air Force and to the Department of Defense to ask them to consider selling Israel and Japan the F-22, thought to be the most advanced fighter plane in the world, according to America's CBS network. It's also the most expensive, and the administration of President Barack Obama recently decided to stop making the planes, except for 187 going to the U.S. Air Force.

A year ago, security considerations blocked the export of the jet, but the economic situation has changed things, since 95,000 jobs could be directly or indirectly affected. Israel welcomed the news, which might affect negotiations to acquire the F-35 fighter.
