Report: More for Gaza to Aid Shalit Release Effort

The security establishment is recommending measures to ease the situation in Gaza as a way to advance the release of abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, according to a report early Friday morning by Ynet.

The moves would mainly affect the commercial crossings into the Hamas-controlled area. They include allowing coffee, tea, soup and fuel for creating elecricity into Gaza.

The recommendations were presented to Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi and Defense Minister Ehud Barak at the beginning of the week. They are supposed to be passed on for approval by the prime minister and the five-minister "kitchen cabinet", as well as the national security cabinet.
