Residents of Modi'in plan to protest Friday against what they call "the landing of planes in the skies of Modi'in," if landing approaches to Ben Gurion Airport are changed. The residents say they will sue the government if it follows the advice of the Knesset's Finance Committee to name an independent committee of experts to examine alternative landing paths.

The residents cite a figure of 190 landings a week. Three weeks ago, the Supreme Court rejected a petition by the city of Modi'in against instituting a change based on available landing distance, explaining that it did not find it proper to get involved with professional proceedings by the Airports Authority and the Civil Aviation Administration.
