The Israel Defense Forces said Thursday evening that a Gaza girl died as a result of a mortar shell fired by Gaza terrorists. The IDF applied the same assessment to those who were wounded.

Gaza Arab sources blamed Israeli mortar fire for the casualties. According to both sides, a mortar shell exploded in a house where the victims were found during the fighting.
