A 17-year-old girl was killed and her 24-year-old brother was among 11 wounded when Israeli troops returned fire after being attacked Thursday evening near the Gaza security fence opposite central Gaza, according to Arab sources quoted by Army Radio. The two were reportedly hit by mortar fire.
Hamas sources cited by Maariv/nrg say the fatality was a three-year-old girl and that four other people were wounded. The sources say they were killed by an anti-tank weapon.
The soldiers were fired on next to the Nahal-Oz base, in what was described at the first attack since Nahal troops replaced a Golani unit there.
