Noam Shalit, the father of captive soldier Gilad Shalit, received on behalf of his son honorary citizenship of Rome. A sign with a blown-up photo of Gilad Shalit and a call for his release was prominently displayed at the city hall.

Noam Shalit met in Rome Wednesday with the Italian President of the Chamber, Gianfranco Fini, and the President of the Senate, Renato Schifani. Shalit called the world to fight for the release of his son.
