Army Promises to Limit Reserve Duty by 2010

Army personnel chief General Avi Zamir testified in the Knesset Wednesday that the IDF intends on limiting operational reserve duty to once in three years starting in 2010. The Knesset passed a law in 2008 requiring the army to do so.

In addition, Zamir said that the two intervening years will be used for training. The army will also try not to call reserve soldiers for duty during holidays.
