Reconciliatory talks in Cairo between Fatah and Hamas ended without fanfare. The two sides decided to meet in another round of talks towards the end of August. Fatah said that there was no agreement on disputed points. On the other hand, Hamas accused Fatah of refusing to agree about releasing political prisoners held by both sides.
Fatah and Hamas originally agreed to release prisoners in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza by Saturday. However, it is now uncertain whether the agreement will be honored.
