President Shimon Peres discussed Iran Tuesday morning during a visit in Kazakhstan with President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Army Radio reports that Peres asked Nazarbayev to act against the sale of uranium to the Tehran government. There are those who feel that Peres will try to arrange the sale of oil from Kazakhstan to Israel for the first time in history.
Not on the agenda is the case of Boris Schenkmann, who was arrested three months ago on charges of bribing Kazakh officials in an attempt to advance sales of Israeli military equipment. Yesterday Schenkmann's family petitioned the Supreme Court to have him recognized as an agent of Israel's arms industry and to work for his release.
