A spokesman from Egypt’s Foreign Ministry clarified that there is no basis to recent reports about an impending deal for the release of the captive soldier Gilad Shalit.

The spokesman, Hussam Zaki, told the Al Jazeera television network that there won’t be any new developments until Israel will send its new envoy, Hagai Hadas, to Egypt.
