What was to be an enjoyable class trip ended in tragedy. Hundreds attended the late Sunday night funeral of a boy from Beitar-Illit, who drowned in the Hatzbani (Snir) River during a class trip to the Upper Galilee.

Yaakov Shlomo Yudelevitz went with his class on an annual class trip. The boy disappeared from the group. His teachers and passersby began searching for him. After a few minutes, they found the boy unconscious in the river. Efforts to revive the drowning victim were unsuccessful.

The tragic incident was the second drowning that day. In the lower Galilee, a man jumped into a stream from the height of over 10 meters. Divers later found his body on the bottom of the pond.
