“The disengagement from Gush Katif was an event of national trauma from which we have not yet healed,” Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin said Tuesday at the opening for a Gush Katif children’s art display in the Knesset building.
“A dear and large sector of the population paid a high price [in the disengagement],” he said. National Union MK Yaakov Katz, who was also present, asked Rivlin “to guard the land of Israel as you guard the Knesset.”
