Eyewitnesses cited by the Associated Press report that police are using force to break up demonstrations by hundreds of people in Tehran against the results of the recent presidential elections. The riot-control measures being used by the police include tear gas and shooting in the air.
Hundreds of police, backed up by helicopters, broke up a demonstration by about 200 people at Fatah Tir Square. They banned people from forming groups and told people to walk separately.
