The Likud party announced that it would host the family of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit in its weekly meeting on Monday. Shalit has been in Hamas captivity for almost three years.

On Sunday, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said in Cairo that negotiations had not yet restarted to free Shalit. The kidnapped soldier’s family demanded that efforts to free Shalit begin immediately.
