“Palestinian forces” from Gaza are helping Iranian authorities to silence street protests by opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi’s supporters following Iran’s disputed presidential elections, two protestors have told The Jerusalem Post. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s government cut off media from reporting events several days ago, and state-controlled radio reports claim that some protestors were shot and killed after they tried to obtain weapons and destroy public property. It was not clear how Palestinian Authority Arabs might have reached Iran.
The interviewed protestors said that demonstrations began peacefully and became violent only in self-defense. “The most important thing, in my opinion, that the people outside of Iran need to know is that Palestinian forces are participating in these attacks against demonstrators,” said one of the men. “My brother was beaten in his ribs by these wild Palestinian animals. They’re hungry for our blood.”
