Called “the gateway to the Holy City of Jerusalem”, Jerusalem.com will be officially launched at a ceremony on June 23 at The David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem with the participation of Minister of Tourism Stas Misezhnikov. The site represents the first-ever attempt to bring the city online and enable people of the world to explore, pray in, interact with and be inspired by Jerusalem, according to a statement from the Tourism Ministry.
Jerusalem.com is the most expensive domain ever bought in Israel, purchased by the Ministry for $750,000 in an effort to strengthen the city’s tourism and culture industries. The site depicts the city as a religious, historical and tourist destination via hundreds of city guide pages, articles about the city, real-estate opportunities and a social network that allows users to share favorite attractions, prayers and beliefs.
