Arab Jailed for Attacking Police Officer

An Arab from Judea and Samaria, Rami Gamhur, was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday for attacking a policeman in Tel Aviv. Police had tried to arrest Gamhur when he attacked them with a knife, seriously wounding one.

The presiding judge, Khaleh Kabub, said that the case was a serious one which warranted a harsh penalty. “The high court and other courts have said that penalties should be severe for those who attack with a knife in order to end this dangerous phenomenon,” he said.
