President Shimon Peres said Monday that despite its loss in Lebanese elections, the Hizbullah terrorist group remains a state within a state.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak also was wary of the election results and said that Israel “would act according to the actions of the new Lebanese government.” The Foreign Ministry published a statement also saying that Israel would wait and see what the new government would look like.
