New Hotel East of Jerusalem’s Old City to be Approved

The Jerusalem Regional Planning Committee and the Interior Ministry plan on approving a plan Tuesday to construct a 200-room hotel just east of Jerusalem’s Old City. The hotel will be nine stories tall and feature a separate five story tall commercial building.

The plan would reportedly involve the demolition of a wholesale market and kindergarten building in the area. The hotel would feature a public promenade for viewing the Mount of Olives and Temple Mount.
